Job summary

Co-op is recruiting a Funeral Service Crew in Liverpool for part-time 30 hours per week. You’ll collect the deceased, bear coffins, drive funeral vehicles, and care for the deceased with dignity. Full training is provided, no prior funeral industry experience required.

You'll join a supportive team with a strong pension, employee discounts, and wellbeing benefits; on-call rota is included. A full UK manual driving licence and the ability to perform physical tasks are required.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting; training provided.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new applications.
• Calm, compassionate approach in emotional circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with records.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional, empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on funeral day and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications daily with accurate records.
• Safely lift and move coffins following safety guidelines.
