Job summary

Maidenhead Aquatics’ Dunfermline store is seeking a weekend team member to support day-to-day operations and deliver excellent customer service.

You will help care for livestock, assist customers, and work as part of a friendly, hands-on team at Fife Leisure Park. Weekend availability is emphasized, with potential overtime, and a focus on maintaining high standards of animal care and shop presentation.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate will have keen interest in all areas of fishkeeping with some experience in aquatics and fishkeeping, enthusiasm for the hobby, and a strong commitment to customer service.
• Should be self-motivated, positive, and organised, as well as hardworking and enthusiastic to learn.
• Person should be positive, practical and keen to be part of a strong, happy team of staff.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the day-to-day maintenance of the store, including caring for livestock and serving customers.
• Deliver excellent standards of livestock care and store presentation.
• Greet and welcome customers in an articulate, approachable and friendly manner to maintain high customer care standards.
• Communicate fishkeeping knowledge clearly to customers with varying experience; uphold responsible fishkeeping policy.
• Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Complete sales correctly and efficiently to ensure customers leave fully satisfied.
• Get merchandise out onto the shop floor, organise stock neatly, ensure correct pricing and availability.

Our amazing Dunfermline store is looking to expand its team.

What hours does this role include?

This role consists of working one day a week (7.75 hours). Weekends are included.

What does the role involve?

• Aiding in the day-to-day maintenance of the store, including caring for the wide variety of livestock that we carry and serving customers.
• Delivery of excellent standards of livestock care and store presentation.
• Greeting and welcoming all our customers in an articulate, approachable, and friendly manner to maintain our high standards of customer care
• Communicating your fishkeeping knowledge clearly to customers with varying levels of experience and maintaining our policy of responsible fishkeeping.
• Working efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Completing sales correctly and efficiently ensures customers leave the store fully satisfied.
• Getting merchandise out onto the shop floor, organising stock neatly on the shelves and making sure it's correctly priced and available.
• This role is primarily for weekend shifts; however, overtime may be available

Our store is situated within Fife Leisure Park, with good bus links, and is a short walk from Halbeath Park and Ride Bus Station.
