Job summary

Juice Recruitment is partnering with a Bath-based luxury brand to recruit a Part-Time Financial Controller. The role is 2 days per week, office-based, offering ownership and strategic financial input in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will run monthly management accounts, oversee month-end, VAT and payroll, and work closely with senior management to improve controls and financial processes while maintaining precise records.

Qualifications

• Experience as Financial Controller, Management Accountant or similar senior finance role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and month-end experience
• Experience with VAT, payroll and reconciliations
• Import tax or international trading knowledge is advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and highly organised
• Commercial mindset with ability to advise and challenge when required
• Hands-on, independent and takes ownership
• Experience in fast-paced premium brand environment
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience

Responsibilities

Juice Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly successful and established business based in central Bath. We’re looking for an experienced Part-Time Financial Controller to join their team on a 2-day-per-week, office-based basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership and providing valuable financial insight to support the wider business.

DAY TO DAY

• Preparing monthly management accounts and providing clear financial insight
• Taking ownership of the month-end process and ensuring deadlines are met
• Preparing and managing VAT returns
• Overseeing import tax and related financial requirements
• Managing payroll processes and ensuring everything is accurate and completed on time
• Completing regular reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Working closely with senior management
• Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls
• Ensuring the smooth and effective running of the finance function

WHAT WE'D LOVE TO SEE

• Previous experience within a Financial Controller, Management Accountant or similar senior finance position
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and solid month-end experience
• Experience with VAT, payroll and reconciliations
• Knowledge of import tax or international trading would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach
• Commercially aware, with the confidence to provide advice and challenge when required
• A hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced, premium brand environment
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
• Be able to do 2 full days

IN RETURN

• £48,000 salary pro rata
• 20% annual bonus
• 22 days' holiday pro rata
• 2 days per week, office-based in central Bath
