Job summary

Juice Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a central Bath business to recruit a part-time Financial Controller. The role is 2 days per week, office-based, offering independent ownership and the chance to drive financial insight across the company.

The successful candidate will have senior finance experience (financial controller or similar), strong technical accounting skills, and be comfortable working in a premium brand environment. ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial controller, management accountant or similar senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and month-end experience.
• Experience with VAT, payroll and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of import tax or international trading would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and highly organised.
• Commercially aware with ability to provide advice and challenge when needed.
• Hands-on, independent with ownership.
• Experience in fast-paced premium brand environment.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts and providing clear financial insight.
• Taking ownership of the month-end process and meeting deadlines.
• Preparing and managing VAT returns.
• Overseeing import tax and related financial requirements.
• Managing payroll processes and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Completing regular reconciliations and maintaining accurate records.
• Working closely with senior management.
• Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls.
• Ensuring smooth and effective running of the finance function.

Juice Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly successful and established business based in central Bath. We're looking for an experienced Part-Time Financial Controller to join their team on a 2-day-per-week, office-based basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being hands-on, taking ownership and providing valuable financial insight to support the wider business.

DAY TO DAY

• Preparing monthly management accounts and providing clear financial insight
• Taking ownership of the month-end process and ensuring deadlines are met
• Preparing and managing VAT returns
• Overseeing import tax and related financial requirements
• Managing payroll processes and ensuring everything is accurate and completed on time
• Completing regular reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Working closely with senior management
• Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls
• Ensuring the smooth and effective running of the finance function

WHAT WE'D LOVE TO SEE

• Previous experience within a Financial Controller, Management Accountant or similar senior finance position
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and solid month-end experience

IN RETURN

• £48,000 salary pro rata
• 20% annual bonus
• 22 days' holiday pro rata
• 2 days per week, office-based in central Bath
