Job summary

Leicestershire County Council in Wigston is seeking a part-time support worker to provide high-quality family support and childcare services as part of a safeguarding plan. The role is 15 hours per week, permanent and paid pro rata.

You will work as part of an integrated team delivering home and centre-based family support interventions to improve outcomes for children, young people and families. An enhanced DBS is required for this post.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 in childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3) or equivalent.
• Experience caring for children or young people in a personal, voluntary or statutory capacity.
• Experience in a social care setting.
• Basic knowledge of child development.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication with children, families, colleagues and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct high-quality integrated family support and childcare services as part of a safeguarding plan.
• Work with an integrated team to deliver home and centre-based family support interventions.
• Contribute to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
• Maintain DBS clearance and comply with safeguarding requirements.
