Job summary

Leicestershire County Council in Wigston is seeking a part-time Support Worker to join the Wigston Locality Safeguarding Team. You will deliver high-quality family support and childcare services to children and young people as part of an integrated plan, in home or centre environments, contributing to improved outcomes for families.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post. The role is permanent, 15 hours per week, with pro rata pay (£29,550 - £32,055 per annum for part time) and flexible

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 in childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3) or equivalent.
• Experience of caring for children or young people in personal, voluntary or statutory capacity.
• Experience in a social care setting.
• Basic knowledge of child development.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication with children, families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct high-quality integrated family support and childcare services to children and young people.
• Work as part of an integrated team to implement family support/safeguarding plans and improve outcomes.
• Contribute to flexible and inclusive services to meet residents’ needs.
