Job summary

Barnardo's in Woking is seeking a Part-Time Family Support Worker (30 hours per week) to join a newly established Community Hub. The role focuses on early help interventions, signposting and practical support for children and families in a vibrant community setting.

You will work with families and partner agencies to improve outcomes, deliver group sessions, and provide home visits as needed, with safeguarding at the core of all activities. This is a 2-year fixed-term post funded by a grant.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering services to families facing complex challenges.
• Ability to work with diverse families and multi‑agency partners.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child welfare principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based interventions with children, young people and families.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 20-30 families requiring Emerging Needs support.
• Facilitate group work, workshops and parenting programmes within the Hub and at venues across Woking.
• Work with partner agencies to provide an integrated service offer.
• Support the development of the Community Hub as a welcoming and safe place for families.
