Job summary

Barnardo's in the United Kingdom is seeking two full-time Family Support Workers on secondment to join our Family Hubs team across Sandwell. You will work closely with families, communities and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children.

Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, you will plan targeted interventions, maintain records, and travel across Sandwell with a full driving license. This permanent role is funded to 31 March 2029 and may be affected by funding.

Qualifications

• Experience in trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.
• Strong partnership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted interventions achieving KPIs and positive outcomes.
• Provide high-quality direct work to strengthen families and resilience.
• Support families to access universal and specialist services.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to family needs.
• Maintain accurate records, risk assessments and GDPR documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partner agencies.
• Contribute to exit strategies that ensure sustainable change.
• Capture children's voices to shape service delivery.

About the Role

As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with families, communities, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children. Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and relational approach, you will help ensure families receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted interventions, achieving measurable KPIs and positive outcomes
• Provide high-quality direct work to strengthen families and promote resilience
• Support families to access appropriate universal and specialist services
• Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to family needs
• Complete and maintain accurate records, including risk assessments and GDPR documentation
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies
• Contribute to effective exit strategies that ensure sustainable change
• Capture and use the voices of children and young people to shape service delivery

Working Pattern

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 31st March 2029 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement. This contract is due to expire on 31st March 2029.
