Job summary

Surrey Family Centres in Woking is seeking a Part-Time Family Support Worker (30 hours per week) for a fixed-term 2-year role funded by a grant. The post is based in our new Community Hub and will provide early help, practical support and signposting to families with children aged 0–19 (25 for SEND).

You will work with partner agencies, manage a caseload, and deliver group sessions and home visits to improve outcomes and resilience in the local community.

Qualifications

• Experience working with families facing multiple challenges.
• Knowledge of domestic abuse, parental mental health, substance misuse.
• Ability to travel across the borough and access to a vehicle.
• Experience delivering group sessions and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based interventions for children, young people and families.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 20-30 families with Emerging Needs support.
• Facilitate group work, workshops and parenting programmes within the Hub and across venues in Woking.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies for an integrated service offering.
• Support the development of the Community Hub as a welcoming, safe place for families to seek help and information.
• Provide home visits where appropriate with family consent and promote safeguarding.
• Maintain accurate, timely and professional case records using consortium systems.
