Job summary

Historic England is seeking a Facilities Assistant for a fixed term 9 months, 18 hours per week, based in our York office. You will ensure day-to-day facilities management services are delivered on site and that facilities are safe, clean, well-stocked, suitably maintained, well presented and comfortable at all times.

You will act as the first point of contact for colleagues, tenants and visitors on site, and monitor performance standards of key contractors.

Qualifications

  • Experience of managing day-to-day communications with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake training in First Aid, Fire Warden, Contractor Management, and Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day facilities management services on site.
  • Ensure facilities are safe, clean, well-stocked and well presented.
  • Act as first point of contact for colleagues, tenants and visitors.
  • Monitor performance standards of key contractors.
  • Proactively resolve issues and escalate where needed.

This is a fixed term contract for 9 months, 18 hours per week, based in our York office.

What you will be doing

As our facilities assistant, you will ensure day to day facilities management services are delivered on site and that facilities are safe, clean, well-stocked, suitably maintained, well presented and comfortable at all times.

You will act as the first point of contact for colleagues, tenants and visitors on site, and monitor performance standards of key contractors.

You will also proactively resolve issues for colleagues and elevate problems appropriately.

  • Experience of managing day-to-day communications with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of (or willingness to undertake training in) First Aid, Fire Warden, Contractor Management, Asbestos Awareness, Health and Safety, Electrical safety, Risk Assessments)
