Job summary

Historic England is offering a full-time, fixed-term Change Manager role, until 30 September 2027. Based in the United Kingdom with hybrid working between office and home, you can be located in York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol, or Portsmouth.

You will lead change management for major programmes, coach leaders, and ensure a consistent approach across projects, collaborating with senior stakeholders to deliver the Strategic Plan and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience of driving change initiatives using a structured change management approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to facilitate sessions in person and online.
  • Ability to work in complex environments and deliver to tight deadlines.

What you will be doing

The Change Manager leads the change management for major programmes, coaches leaders on smaller initiatives, and ensures a consistent change management approach across projects. The post holder will need to identify the scale and impact of the planned changes, analyse interdependencies and liaise roll out and training with other changes. They need to design interventions needed to achieve the desired changes in mind set, skills, and practice to successfully deliver the Strategic Plan. They collaborate with and support other change managers, lead resource updates, and collaborate with senior stakeholders and teams at all levels.

Who we are looking for

Experience of driving and delivering change initiatives that involve the people side of change using a change management methodology

Excellent Communication Skills and ability to create a positive change narrative

Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders

Excellent facilitation skills in person and online

Ability to work in and understand complex environments and projects

Ability to deliver to tight deadlines while collaborating across the organisation
