Job summary

Dumpton School in Wimborne Minster is seeking an outstanding Reception teacher for the Spring and Summer Terms 2027, working on Thursdays and Fridays. The role requires a QTS or equivalent with strong EYFS outcomes and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons that nurture curious, capable children.

The successful candidate will create a warm classroom culture, engage with parents, and contribute to the school’s values, safeguarding, and professional development

• To create a friendly, happy classroom where every child is valued, nurtured and supported.
• To plan and deliver inspiring EYFS curriculum teaching to encourage love of learning and high potential.
• To plan and deliver lessons aligned with Quality First Teaching principles in an inclusive environment.
• To monitor pupil progress and intervene to ensure all pupils reach potential.
• To build strong links with parents and provide proactive feedback on progress.
• To uphold The Dumpton Way and character education for personal development.
• To engage in professional development and reflect on best practice.
• To contribute to wider development by offering an after-school club or activity.
• To attend staff meetings and integrate within the Pre-Prep team.
• To ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and safeguarding is active.
• This role may include duties outside the list at the Headmaster’s discretion.
