Job summary

Windsor Forest Colleges Group is seeking an Equine Yard Technician to join the Equestrian Centre at Berkshire College of Agriculture, Maidenhead. The role is part-time (16 hours per week) with Friday and Saturday shifts, on a permanent basis and on the G17–G19 pay scale (FTE £25,483–£27,284).

You will balance direct horse care with instructional support for students, maintaining welfare, supervising yard sessions, and preparing equipment for lessons.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in an equine subject and Level 2 English and Maths are essential.
• Experience handling a range of horses is required.
• Good administrative skills and safeguarding commitment are essential.
• Flexible and capable of supporting students in practical lessons.

Responsibilities

• Maintain horse welfare and daily stable routines.
• Exercise horses and monitor veterinary needs.
• Supervise practical sessions and support students, including special needs groups.
• Prepare equipment for daily lessons and manage yard resources.
• Operate college vehicles/tractors and conduct risk assessments.
