Job summary

Berkshire College of Agriculture in Maidenhead is seeking an Equine Yard Technician to join the Equestrian Centre on a part-time, permanent basis. The role involves 16 hours weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, within the Windsor Forest Colleges Group, and sits on Scale G.

You'll care for horses, support student learning, supervise practical yard sessions, and prepare equipment for lessons while helping maintain a safe environment and following safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Level 3 equine qualification or equivalent.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• Practical experience working with horses.
• Good IT skills and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of horse welfare and daily stable routines.
• Exercise horses and identify veterinary or farrier needs.
• Support student learning by demonstrating techniques and supervising yard sessions.
• Assist with special needs groups and prepare equipment for daily lessons.
• Manage yard resources, operate college vehicles/tractors, and carry out risk assessments.
