Job summary

The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is seeking an Equine Yard Technician to join the Berkshire College of Agriculture Equestrian Centre on a part-time permanent basis. The role is 16 hours per week, Fridays and Saturdays, and covers direct horse care and instructional support for students.

Applicants should hold a Level 3 equine qualification with Level 2 English and Maths, plus hands-on horse-handling experience. Salary on the G scale with benefits and safeguarding checks.

Qualifications

• 1) Level 3 qualification in equine subject plus Level 2 English and Maths.
• 2) Practical experience handling a range of horses.
• 3) Solid administrative skills and IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of horse welfare and daily stable routines.
• Exercise horses and identify veterinary or farrier needs.
• Support student learning by demonstrating techniques and supervising practical sessions.
• Prepare equipment for daily lessons and assist with yard safety and risk assessments.
