Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a Domestic Assistant at Woodhill House, Morecambe. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors, with a 17.5-hour week schedule from 09:00 to 14:00 and a permanent, part-time contract.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while adhering to health and safety standards. Training is provided, and uniform is supplied.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across the building, including communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces as required.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with organisational procedures.
• Follow designated cleaning schedules and maintain appropriate cleaning records.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
