Job summary

Lancashire County Council seeks a dependable Domestic Assistant to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Thornton House. You will contribute to residents', staff's and visitors' well-being by upholding high cleanliness standards.

Role is 17.5 hours per week, permanent and part-time, with pay at £13.45 per hour. The position requires reliability, teamwork, and adherence to health and safety practices; training and uniform are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across the building, including communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces as required.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with organisational procedures.
• Follow designated cleaning schedules and maintain appropriate cleaning records.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
