Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver for Waitrose to provide excellent customer service on deliveries and support daily shop tasks. The role is part-time with a 7.5-hour week, Tuesday 14:00–22:15, requiring a valid UK driving licence, a friendly demeanour, and physical capability for lifting and navigation.

DBS checks may apply, and flexible working options could be available. As a Partner-led business, you’ll join a team that values service, safety, and trust.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Hold a full, valid UK manual car driving licence (B category) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Excellent people skills and a friendly approach to customer service.
• Able to perform physical work including lifting crates and moving items up to ~18 kg.

Responsibilities

• Be a friendly face for the Waitrose brand while on the road, delivering great customer service.
• Discuss order changes with customers and process refunds if needed.
• Handle products with care and treat deliveries like your own.
• Ensure customers are not charged extra for substitutions.
• Assist customers with groceries and build trustful relationships.
• Familiarise yourself with the delivery route for the day.
• Carry out full safety checks on the delivery van and comply with safety rules.
• Assist the wider CFC team with warehouse tasks when off the road.
