Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate chef for a casual, part-time Bank Chef role with flexible working and no split shifts. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome menus for residents, ensuring a warm and welcoming kitchen environment.

We require City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent, experience leading a team, strong nutrition knowledge, HACCP understanding and experience with fresh seasonal food.

Qualifications

• Need a personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• Good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment within the home
• Solid understanding of HACCP procedures

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality dishes
• Create a warm, efficient and enjoyable kitchen environment
• Work within budget
• Complete regular audits
• Manage stock control and ordering
• Assist in leading and motivating a team
