Job summary

Friary House Surgery in Plymouth is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work 30 hours per week within a close-knit team. The ANP will assess, diagnose and treat patients autonomously, potentially reducing GP referrals and improving timely access to care.

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent
• Registered Nurse (NMC Pin)
• Masters degree in advanced clinical Practice or Post-graduate diploma/degree for Advanced Practice
• Independent Nurse Prescriber

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
• Diagnose illnesses and develop personalised treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Provide health education to patients regarding their conditions and wellness strategies
• Ensure SNOMED codes are used effectively
• Request pathology services as necessary
• Process and interpret pathology and other test results as required
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and organisational standards
• Stay informed about the latest medical practices, guidelines, and innovations relevant to primary care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
