Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is seeking an Arrhythmia Nurse at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The role is part-time, Band 6/7, permanent, 18.75 hours per week, with a pro rata salary of £40,559–£57,365 per annum.

You will join the Cardiology team delivering nurse-led clinics and rhythm management. You will work with consultants and nurses to provide high-quality care across rapid access and follow-up services, with Welsh language applications welcome and support from the Cardiology

Qualifications

• NMC/AHP registered
• Advanced ECG interpretation skills
• 1st degree in relevant clinical/professional subject
• BHRS accreditation
• Clinical examination and history taking modules at MSc level
• ALS provider
• Extensive post reg experience in cardiology
• Experience of undertaking audit and research
• Implementation of innovations in practice
• Advanced clinical decision-making and assessment skills

Responsibilities

• To provide advanced and specialist practice undertaking holistic assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients referred with, or suspected of having cardiac rhythm disorders;
• Ensure delivery of ongoing care is given, through determination of diagnosis (including differential diagnosis), development & implementation of clinical management plans and referral to relevant health professionals regarding on-going health care needs of individual patients;
• Function as an autonomous practitioner with own caseload to manage changing healthcare needs in conjunction with the clinical team;
• Work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services provided for patients within the specialist area, providing specialist advice, support, education and training; this will include acting as coordinator for the trust wide complex device service and/or nurse led Cardioversion service. Provide a support service for those families at risk of, or affected by, Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD)
