Job summary

Fletcher George is recruiting an experienced Senior Accountant for a Weybridge practice. The role offers flexible 15–30 hours per week with hybrid working and a salary guide of £40,000–£50,000 FTE, depending on experience.

You will manage owner‑managed client portfolios, prepare statutory and quarterly accounts, VAT returns, and build lasting client relationships, with IT familiarity (Xero, QuickBooks, Iris/CCH) to support cloud-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice and client facing roles.
• Ability to prepare statutory and management accounts and VAT returns.
• Comfort with cloud-based accounting tools and outsourcing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses with accounting support.
• Prepare statutory accounts under FRS 102/FRS 105 and quarterly management accounts.
• Prepare Quarterly VAT Returns and assist with year‑end filings.
• Build strong client relationships and work with Partners to deliver service.
• Utilise cloud technologies such as Xero and QuickBooks in client workflows.

Working approximately 15-30 hours per week, the firm offers a flexible working pattern with hybrid working.

The Role

You will manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, providing high-quality accounting support including:

• Preparation of statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.


• Preparation of some Quarterly Management accounts.


• Quarterly VAT Returns.


• Building strong client relationships.


• IT knowledge of Iris or CCH is advantageous


• Supporting clients using cloud based technologies such as Xero and QuickBooks.


• Working closely with the Partners to deliver an excellent client service.

This role does not include payroll.

About You

You will be ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience (QBE) with previous experience gained within an accountancy practice.

You will enjoy working closely with clients and be confident preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and VAT Returns.
