Job summary

Fletcher George is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Buckinghamshire practice, offering a busy portfolio of owner-managed businesses and a supportive, flexible culture.

You will manage statutory and management accounts, build trusted relationships with clients, and mentor junior staff within a collaborative team.

Three days in the office and two days at home reflect their trusted hybrid policy, with ongoing CPD and professional development on offer.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Experience producing management accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to delivering outstanding client service.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP - FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Preparing quarterly management accounts for selected clients.
• Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across sectors.
• Building long-term client relationships and acting as their first point of contact.
• Providing practical accounting support throughout the financial year.
• Reviewing the work of junior team members and assisting with their development.
• Collaborating with colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience.

The Role

This opportunity would suit an experienced practice accountant who enjoys the breadth of general practice and values becoming a trusted adviser to a portfolio of owner-managed businesses.

You will manage your own client portfolio, delivering a professional and personal service whilst working closely with colleagues across the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP - FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Preparing quarterly management accounts for selected clients.
• Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across a range of sectors.
• Building long-term client relationships and acting as their first point of contact.
• Providing practical accounting support throughout the financial year.
• Reviewing the work of junior team members and assisting with their development.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Knowledge of Personal and / or Corporate Tax would be advantageous, however, it is by no means essential.

About You

You are likely to be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with your experience gained within an accountancy practice.

Ideally you will have:

• Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Experience producing management accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
