Job summary

WestonBrook Associates, an established independent accountancy firm just outside Chelmsford, is seeking a part-time Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to join the team. The role offers genuine flexibility with school-hour options and 16–25 hours per week.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years' UK practice experience, strong client service skills, and be proficient with Xero, QuickBooks, CCH or Sage; you will handle year-end accounts, VAT, and tax computations while balancing

Qualifications

• Ideally 2 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Previous experience working directly with clients.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines confidently.
• Experience using Xero, QuickBooks, CCH or Sage.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for a mix of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Producing statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 101.
• Completing corporation tax computations and submissions.
• Preparing, reviewing and filing VAT returns.
• Managing client relationships and responding to queries on accounting and tax matters.
