Job summary

BCP Council in Bournemouth is seeking a Parking Officer to enforce on- and off-street parking regulations and assist the public with enquiries, helping to keep highways and car parks safe.

You will patrol public highways and council car parks in shift patterns between 07:00 and 23:59, issue penalty charge notices, and support hearings as required. A UK manual driving licence is essential and no formal qualification is required. Full time permanent role with clear progression within the pay band.

Responsibilities

• To patrol the public highway, Council owned streets, and off-street car parks in shift patterns as directed between 07:00 and 23:59, 7 days a week.
• To sign for all equipment issued and ensure it is in working order at the start of each patrol.
• To undertake the enforcement of decriminalized parking, including issuing penalty charge notices and providing affidavits for hearings.
• To drive a council vehicle when required including a moped after training.
• To assist in maintenance of lines, signs, car parks and other parking equipment during patrols.
• To act as relief for other parking officers, cashiers, or other posts within the car parking service.
