Royal Mail Group in Stafford is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels from Stafford Delivery Office. The role is 35 hours per week, on a rotating 5 days in 7 schedule, with weekends included, and a fixed-term contract of 9 months. You will be trained fully and supplied with a uniform and a red Royal Mail van.

Expect physical outdoor work, customer-facing duties, and the chance to be active while serving your community. Overtime is paid.

Qualificações

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 35:00hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday -13:30/20:30*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
