Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Tiverton is recruiting a Parcel Delivery Driver on a fixed-term nine-month contract. You will work 37 hours per week, with afternoon/evening shifts, delivering parcels in the assigned area and using route-planning tools to stay on schedule.

The role requires a full UK manual driving licence (max 6 points) and a customer-focused approach as you represent Royal Mail on every delivery. Training and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Independent, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Organised, punctual and proactive with initiative.
• Committed to delivering excellent customer service.
• Confident interacting with customers as a Royal Mail ambassador.
• Willing to work afternoon and early evening shifts.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence with no more than six penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Prepping the van and workload for the day using route-planning tools.
• Delivering parcels across the assigned area accurately.
• Engaging with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Handling election materials and other items per Royal Mail standards.

Location: Tiverton Delivery Office, EX16 6BH

Job type: Fixed Term contract for nine months

Hours: 37 hours per week, working five days across Monday - Sunday, working between 12:00 and 20:00

Due to operational demand, you will be required to work Saturday and Sunday, according to a local rota/plan.

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Parcel Delivery Driver, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
