Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Stratford-upon-Avon is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 10-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, and you’ll work a 30-hour week on a rotating schedule across Monday to Sunday.

You’ll be outdoors in all weather, walking long distances and carrying mailbags, with full training provided and a driving assessment required. The role includes weekends, a monthly salary of £13.68 per hour with overtime and 14:30–20:30

Qualifications

Job type: Fixed Termcontract 10 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 14:30/20:30*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Saturdays and Sundays.

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
