Job summary

Royal Mail in Rotherham is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to sort letters and parcels, and deliver in the local area. You will work a 30-hour week on a rotating schedule across Monday to Sunday, driving a Royal Mail van and engaging with customers along routes.

The role is outdoors, weather permitting, with full training provided and a focus on safe, reliable delivery. Excellent pension and wellbeing support accompany the benefits.

Location: Rotherham Delivery Office, S60 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 2pm/8pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Rotherham Delivery Office.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
