Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd is hiring a remote Functional Assessor (Registered Paramedic) for Medacs Healthcare. The role focuses on clinical judgement, evidence review and written justification rather than hands-on care.

You will conduct telephone PIP assessments, analyze medical evidence, and prepare detailed reports within defined quality standards. Remote working, structured hours, and ongoing clinical support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed).
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).

If you’re an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist considering a move away from hands‑on clinical care, this role offers a structured alternative where your clinical judgement remains central.

Working as a PIP Functional Assessor, you’ll evaluate how a person’s health conditions impact their daily activities. This position focuses on professional assessment, evidence review and written clinical justification rather than treatment delivery.

Essential:

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions

• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed)
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)

Desirable

• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles
• Confidence in producing high‑quality written clinical reports
