Luxe Recruitment is seeking a LV Switch Panel Wireman for a reputable engineering and manufacturing client in Braintree, Essex. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and MCCB panel boards to BS EN 61439 standards.
You will read electrical CAD drawings, prepare wiring loom kits, perform electrical testing, and ensure quality records and safety compliance while working mostly in a workshop with some site visits.

The LV Switch Panel Wireman will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage distribution boards and MCCB panel boards. The role is central to ensuring products are completed accurately, safely and to the required technical standards.
Build and test distribution boards and MCCB panels in line with technical drawings, specifications and BS EN 61439 requirements
Read and interpret electrical CAD drawings, wiring diagrams and layout information
Check component quantities and quality before starting each build
Assemble wiring loom kits using a range of cable crimp hand tools
Carry out electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance and functional checks
Identify and rectify wiring or assembly faults through effective fault-finding
Maintain accurate manufacturing records, including test certification, diagrams, drawings and production sheets
Work safely and support compliance with health and safety requirements
Work independently with limited supervision while collaborating with colleagues and other departments
Previous strong experience in a low-voltage panel building environment
Good understanding of electrical systems, components and panel construction
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
Ability to read and work from technical electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical test equipment
Knowledge of electrical regulations, including 18th Edition

39 hours per week, full-time
Monday to Thursday: 07:25 to 16:30 (with lunch from 12:15 to 13:00)
Friday: 07:30 to 13:10 (no lunch break)
Location: Braintree, Essex (workshop based role)
Salary: £27,000 p/a
