Job summary

RHI Industrials Ltd invites applications for a Pre-Build Engineer (Panel wireman) based in our pre-build workshop in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will build and wire control panels, following schematics, and participate in FAT testing while maintaining top health, safety and quality standards.

The role requires independence, reliability, and the ability to communicate across levels. A laptop and mobile are provided, along with a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical/electronic panel wiring.
• Experience reading schematic drawings and following diagrams.
• Experience with factory acceptance testing (FAT).
• Strong health, safety, and quality awareness on site.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily work and report progress to the Pre-build Supervisor.
• Report defects, snags and complaints to the Pre-build Supervisor.
• Report Health & safety defects/incidents to the Pre-build Supervisor.
• Maintain branding and ensure compliance with company name (RHI Industrials Ltd).
• Liaise with Client's representatives as required.
• Promote sustainable material practices to reduce waste and costs.
• Report defective materials and substandard workmanship to supervision.
• Provide own basic hand tools as required.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK's largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Pre-Build Engineer (Panel wireman) and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth.

The engineer will be based at our pre-build workshop in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

• Proven experience in electrical / electronic background in panel wiring.
• Experience in following schematic drawings.
• Experience in factory acceptance testing
• Awareness of stock control to ensure continued productivity
• Ability to work to strict deadlines
• Able to make decisions and take responsibility
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Must be computer literate in basic IT skills
• Must have good observational skills especially for Health, Safety and Quality issues
• Must be focused on all safety, environmental and quality issues on site
• Must be able to communicate with all levels of personnel
• Must be professional in approach and manner at all times
• Flexible during periods of change
• Ability to learn, understand promote and apply new technologies

Role & Responsibilities - once all training is provided:

• Monitoring own daily work activities and reporting progress and issues of concern to the Pre-build Supervisor.
• Reporting defects, snags and complaints to the Pre-build Supervisor.
• Reporting Health & safety defects / incidents / accidents and near miss situations to the Pre-build Supervisor.
• Ensuring image and name associated with RHI Industrials Ltd are upheld at all times.
• Liaising with Client's representatives (as required)
• For ensuring that company management systems and processes are adhered to
• For promoting good practice of material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs
• For reporting to the Pre-Build Supervisor all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s.
• Candidates should be able to provide their own, basic hand tools.
