Job summary

Automation Experts in North East Wales is seeking an experienced Panel Builder/Wirer to wire control panels, install cabling, and assemble electrical equipment for industrial automation projects.

You will read schematics, work from GA drawings, and support both panel wiring and electrical installation while maintaining safety, quality and tidy workmanship. The role offers a competitive salary, generous holiday, overtime opportunities and a company pension.

Qualifications

• Completed recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 electrical qualification.
• Previous experience with control panel wiring and field wiring.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical control panels, specialised machinery and frame-mounted equipment.
• Install cable tray, trunking and conduit systems.
• Read GA drawings and wiring diagrams and interpret them accurately.
• Carry out mechanical fitting of electrical components and related equipment.
• Test installations and assist fault-finding activities when required.
• Use hand and power tools to industry standards and maintain safety.
• Support workshop activities and uphold high safety and cleanliness standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Panel Builder / Wirer to join a well-established electrical engineering and automation environment delivering bespoke control systems and electrical solutions for a variety industries.

Ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on electrical work, this role offers excellent variety across control panel wiring, machinery installation and electrical assembly within a stable and supportive engineering environment.

Panel Builder / Wirer - The Role:

• Wire electrical control panels, specialised machinery and frame-mounted equipment
• Install cable tray, trunking and conduit systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings and wiring diagrams
• Carry out mechanical fitting of electrical components and associated equipment
• Test installations and support fault finding activities when required
• Use hand tools, power tools and crimping equipment to industry standards
• Support both electrical and non-electrical workshop activities when needed
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping

Panel Builder / Wirer - What We're Looking For:

• Completed recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 electrical qualification
• Previous experience with control panel wiring and field wiring
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
• Good practical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Desirable experience includes:
• 18th Edition qualification
• MEWP, PASMA, Harness, Forklift or Scissor Lift certification
• Mechanical fitting or installation experience
