Steer Automotive Group is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced Panel Beater to join our team at our state-of-the-art bodyshop in Moorside, Colchester. About the Role:

As a Panel Beater, you will be responsible for repairing and replacing damaged vehicle panels, ensuring that all work meets our high standards and manufacturer specifications. You’ll be working on a wide range of vehicles, including electric and hybrid models, and will play a key role in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out panel repairs on vehicles, including straightening, filing, sanding, and replacing body components
• Work with specialist tools and equipment to reshape and fit panels
• Perform body alignment and welding tasks as required
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to BSI PAS 10125 standards and manufacturer guidelines
• Conduct vehicle inspections to assess damage and plan repairs
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following Health & Safety procedures

About You:

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Panel Beater who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You should have:

• Proven experience in panel beating and vehicle body repair
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards
• Experience working with both traditional and modern vehicles, including electric and hybrid models
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• ATA/NVQ qualifications in vehicle body repair (preferred but not essential; we will support with training and renewal)
• A flexible and proactive approach to your work
