Job summary

St Luke’s Hospice in Basildon is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Clinical Outpatients team. You will assess, plan and deliver holistic care to patients with complex needs, coordinating with families and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safety and quality throughout the patient journey.

You will contribute to clinical audits, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement while upholding the highest standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

• Ability to communicate sensitively with patients, families and colleagues.
• Commitment to clinical safety and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic assessments and care plans for patients with complex needs.
• Perform clinical tasks such as venepuncture, cannulation, IV meds and related procedures.
• Collaborate with MDTs and ensure effective handovers and communications.
• Support patients and families with compassionate, confidential care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with policies and standards.
• Coordinate care with Hospice and community teams to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
• Contribute to learning and development of colleagues and students.
• Participate in clinical supervision and audits for service improvement.
• Take responsibility for daily operations of Clinical Outpatients when needed.
