Job summary

Coverage Care Services Limited is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our Property Maintenance Team in Shrewsbury. The role focuses on interior and exterior decoration, with a mix of planned and reactive projects to keep residents’ homes looking their best.

You will perform surface preparation, painting, wallpapering, and decorative finishing, while maintaining hygiene and safety, and working 37 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 painting qualification.
• City & Guilds in Painting and Decorating or equivalent.
• Driving license and own transport required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality interior and exterior decoration tasks.
• Measure work areas and calculate the time and materials needed.
• Prepare work areas with residents in mind.
• Prepare surfaces, paint, varnish, hang wallpaper, and finish to a professional standard.
• Maintain clean and tidy workspaces and perform full clean-up after each job.
• Follow COSHH and safety policies and use PPE as required.
• Report tasks incomplete to the Property Maintenance Manager.
• Collaborate with team and share best practice.
• Maintain records and follow company policies.

Level 2 painting

City & Guilds in Painting and Decorating or similar

Driving licence & own transport

Salary: £13.18 per hour, plus enhancements for weekend working
Hours: 37 hours per week (occasional weekends, bank holidays & evenings as required)
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.
Reports to: Property Maintenance Manager

Are you skilled in painting and decorating, with an eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality work? We’re looking for a dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our Property Maintenance Team and help keep our homes looking their best.

About the Role

As part of our wider maintenance team, you’ll ensure that both the interior and exterior areas of our homes are maintained to a high standard. You’ll carry out a mixture of planned and reactive projects - ranging from surface preparation and painting to wallpapering and decorative finishing.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carry out high-quality interior and exterior decoration tasks
• Measure work areas and calculate the time and materials needed
• Prepare work areas and, always being mindful of our residents
• Prepare surfaces, colour match, paint, varnish, hang wallpaper, and finish to a professional standard
• Maintain clean and tidy workspaces, including full clean-up after each job
• Use and store equipment and chemicals safely in line with COSHH
• Follow all Health & Safety policies and use PPE as required
• Report any tasks you are unable to complete to the Property Maintenance Manager
