Job summary

IBIS London City Shoreditch is seeking a maintenance/painting operative to prepare rooms and public areas, protect surfaces during works, and carry out painting and finishing tasks. You will also perform light repairs, keep records, and ensure compliance with hotel security regulations.

Experience in painting and decorating is preferred and knowledge of security rules is a plus. The role is based on-site within the hotel, with responsibilities across guest areas and service corridors,

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing surroundings, including covering fixtures and furniture to prevent messes.
• Preparing painting surfaces, including removing old paint, filling holes and cracks and washing walls.
• Applying paint, varnishing and other finishes, hanging wallpapers and other decorative products.
• Cleaning up painting tools and supplies, replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture after completing the project.
• Conduct routine inspection of premises and equipment and handle basic repairs and maintenance requirements.
• Assist in record keeping and keep daily log of repairs and maintenance of assets and equipment.
• Apply the Hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)
