Job summary

Brackenberry Limited is recruiting an experienced Painter and Decorator for a 3-month contract to support the housing maintenance team across Kettering and Corby areas.

The role requires mould treatment knowledge, asbestos awareness, and health and safety practice in social housing environments; travel between properties may be required.

Qualifications

• NVQ qualification in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Asbestos Awareness Certificate is essential.
• At least 24 months hands-on experience as a qualified Painter and Decorator.
• Experience painting and decorating within social housing or domestic council properties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating work to a high standard in domestic council properties.
• Undertake mould treatment in domestic properties and prepare accommodation for occupancy.
• Identify hazards and materials, including asbestos-containing materials and MDF, and follow safety procedures.
• Drive council vehicles weighing under 3.5 tonnes for business purposes and travel between properties.
• Follow health and safety policies when handling materials, equipment and treatment products.

We are working closely alongside a local authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Painter and Decorator on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. North Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced and skilled Painter and Decorator to join the housing maintenance team, supporting the upkeep and preparation of temporary accommodation and domestic council properties across the Kettering and Corby areas. The role requires practical knowledge of mould treatment, asbestos awareness, health and safety procedures, and experience working within social housing environments. Responsibilities:

• Carry out painting and decorating work to a high standard in domestic council properties.
• Undertake mould treatment in domestic properties and help prepare accommodation for occupancy.
• Identify potential hazards and harmful materials, including asbestos-containing materials and MDF, and follow the appropriate safety procedures.
• Drive council vehicles weighing under 3.5 tonnes for business purposes and travel between properties as required.
• Follow relevant health and safety policies and procedures when handling materials, equipment and treatment products.
• NVQ qualification in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant qualification.
