Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Painter to enhance rented housing quality and tenant satisfaction. You will handle interior and exterior painting across domestic and commercial properties, including walls, ceilings, staircases, and textured finishes.

The role supports safer housing with craftsmanship and problem-solving, prioritising safety and tenant needs. The ideal candidate has NVQ3 or C&G Advance Craft, a driving licence, good communication skills, and a methodical work

Qualifications

• Experience in all aspects of painting works including interior and exterior applications.
• NVQ3 or C&G Advance Craft or equivalent painter qualification.
• Full and valid driving licence and ability to travel as required.
• Ability to communicate with customers with differing needs and expectations.
• Investigations and fault finding to identify root causes and fix them.
• Well organised with methodical task completion and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting in domestic and commercial buildings.
• Work with textured finishes, coatings, fire retardant work and mould treatments.
• Apply workmanship to achieve first-time fixes where possible.
