Autoskills-Uk in York is seeking an experienced Paint Sprayer/Paint Technician to prepare and finish vehicles to a high standard. The role offers a salary up to £59,500 DOE with a pay rise after successful probation and a stable, full-time position.

Working Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, you will operate in a professional Bodyshop environment, collaborating with panel beaters and workshop colleagues to ensure efficient repairs and top-quality finishes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Paint Sprayer or Paint Technician in a professional bodyshop or accident repair environment.
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle paint systems, colour matching and refinishing techniques.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing (sanding, filling, masking, priming).
• Mix and apply paint using appropriate spray equipment and techniques.
• Colour match, blend and refinish to an excellent finish.
• Inspect completed paintwork and rectify imperfections as needed.
• Coordinate with Panel Beaters and workshop team for efficient repairs.
• Complete allocated repairs within timescales while maintaining quality.
• Follow health and safety procedures for paints, solvents and equipment.”

THE ROLE

As a Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing and refinishing vehicles, ensuring paintwork is completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing vehicle surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
• Mixing and applying paint using appropriate spray equipment and techniques.
• Carrying out colour matching, blending, and refinishing work to achieve an excellent finish.
• Inspecting completed paintwork and rectifying imperfections where required.
• Working closely with Panel Beaters and other workshop technicians to maintain an efficient repair process.
• Completing allocated repairs within agreed timescales while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Following appropriate health and safety procedures when handling paints, solvents, and workshop equipment.
• Maintaining spray equipment, tools, and the working area in a clean and professional condition.

ABOUT YOU

This role would suit an experienced Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician / Paint Refinisher / Vehicle Painter who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer or Paint Technician within a professional Bodyshop or accident repair environment.
• Recognised qualification in Vehicle Refinishing (NVQ / IMI / City & Guilds / ATA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of modern vehicle paint systems, colour matching, blending, and refinishing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
• The ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively as part of a skilled workshop team.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A commitment to continuous professional development.
