Job summary

Carpenters Group is seeking a dedicated personal injury handler to manage a caseload from instruction to settlement. The role focuses on MOJ and Intermediate Track motor claims, maximising damages while maintaining high standards of client care.

The ideal candidate will have solid MOJ experience, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. We offer a hybrid working model, extensive training, and opportunities to progress within our UK-wide practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in the personal injury field and running own caseload or assisting a Serious Injury Lawyer.
• Knowledge of CPR, relevant case law and legislation for progressing claims.
• Understanding of the Intermediate Track Fixed Fee regime introduced Oct 2023.
• Excellent client care and analytical skills, including clear written and oral advice.
• Good IT skills with VF or similar case management system.

Responsibilities

• Proactively and efficiently run a caseload with MOJ and Intermediate Track motor claims to maximise damages.
• Hit commercial targets while maintaining high quality client care.
• Identify vulnerable clients and raise capacity concerns with the manager.
• Obtain medical or other evidence to establish liability, causation and quantum.
• Instruct Counsel, attend conferences or court hearings when necessary.
• Keep clients informed regularly by phone, video, email or meetings.
• Maintain schedules, prioritise court directions, and ensure timely progression of claims.
• Communicate with insurers and ensure retainer and rates are correct.
