Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) in Manchester invites an experienced Band 6+ registered paediatric nurse to lead the Children’s Unit in Acute and General Paediatrics. The Ward Manager will provide visible clinical leadership, support the nursing team, and promote a culture of safety, learning and high-quality family-centered care.

Competenze

• Substantial experience at Band 6 level.
• Line management experience.
• Evidence of good organisational and planning skills.
• Recent evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
• Implementation of audit/research recommendations.
• Experience of change management.
• Knowledge of NSF, NICE, NMC guidelines and budgetary control.

Mansioni

• Lead the day-to-day management and leadership of the Children's Unit, delivering safe, effective paediatric care.
• Provide visible clinical leadership and staff development while maintaining high professional standards.
• Oversee workforce planning and rostering, staff wellbeing, recruitment and retention, and appraisal.
• Ensure clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and appropriate staffing in response to acuity.
• Collaborate with Matrons and multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow and timely, coordinated care.
