Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Children’s Ward is recruiting an acting Senior Sister/Ward Manager to oversee ward management and patient care for children and their families.

You must be a registered paediatric nurse with at least 12 months’ post‑registration experience at Band 6, have teaching and mentorship qualifications, and hold a degree in a health‑related subject (or start a degree within a year).

Qualifications

• Registered paediatric nurse with post-registration experience.
• 12 months’ post-registration experience at Band 6 level.
• Computer literate and able to teach and mentor students.

Responsibilities

• Oversee managerial duties of the Children’s Ward and ensure high‑quality paediatric care.
• Support and develop ward staff and provide an excellent learning environment for student nurses.
• Promote education, assessment and care quality across the team and sites.
