Job Description:

Pulse’s permanent team is recruiting a band 6 or 7 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist based at a special education college in Devon. While the role will be based in Torpoint, Devon, there may be occasional travel to other sites.

About the role:

As a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide learning and supportive environment activities for young people aged 16–25 years with learning difficulties and disabilities, including Autism, Social Emotional and Mental Health conditions, and complex behaviour.

Your main responsibilities as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Develop and deliver Speech and Language Therapy programmes to children and young adults in education or residential settings with complex speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
  • Support peers and the Head of Therapies, working effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams both internally and externally.
  • Attend and participate in team and case review meetings.

What we are looking for in a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Must be HCPC and RCSLT registered.
  • Commitment to learning and unlearning within Neurodiversity Affirming support.
