Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals is seeking a Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist interest in Epilepsy to join the team at St Helier Hospital. The post is a replacement position based in the Paediatrics department with commitments to Epilepsy and General Paediatrics outpatient care.

The successful applicant will participate in acute paediatric services, contribute to teaching, and support on‑call duties with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with GMC and holding a licence to practise.
• On or within 6 months of the GMC Specialist Register for General Paediatrics.
• Holder of CCT/CESR in General Paediatrics.
• MRCPCH membership or equivalent qualification.
• Level 3 child protection training.
• APLS/NLS certification and related resuscitation training.
• MD or equivalent higher degree or research activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive clinical service to paediatric patients.
• Participate in Epilepsy care and complex epilepsy management.
• Contribute to general paediatrics outpatient activity and teaching.
• Join on‑call rota 1 in 5 weeks and ward duties on a 1 in 8 on‑call frequency.
• Engage in clinical governance, audits and education with junior staff.
