Job summary

Cranswick PLC is seeking Packing Operatives for 4 on, 4 off shifts in Hessle, United Kingdom. You will operate slicing equipment within a production team, ensuring product quality, food safety and on-time delivery while maintaining hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Willing to undertake training in L2 Food Safety and L2 Health and Safety Principles.
• Group and site induction.
• Understanding of risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
• Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
• Mechanical aptitude, forward thinking and planning skills.
• Ability to work within a team, attention to detail and meets QVIP values.

Responsibilities

• Arrive 15 minutes before shift and begin slicing operations.
• Operate the just-in-time process to minimise changeovers and downtime.
• Ensure log conditioning is correct prior to loading the machine.
• Maintain Food Safety standards and hygiene at all times.
• Follow GMP practices: hand washing, PPE, clean as you go.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time; provide support to other areas as needed.
• Participate in multi-skilling through job rotation.
• Adhere to quality standards and standard operating procedures.
• Meet the production plan.
• Observe time keeping and absence reporting.

Job Purpose:

Take responsibility for the operation of the slicing machine whilst working as part of a production team in the manufacture of products that exceed customer expectations whilst adhering to all required standards, meeting, and exceeding quality standards, achieving targets on time and in full, within budget behaving in a safe manner, ensuring Food Safety and maintaining hygiene standards.

Main Duties

• Arrive at workstation to commence slicing 15 minutes before start of shift
• Operate just in time process ensuring material is available to minimise changeovers and downtime
• Ensure log conditioning is to the correct standard prior to loading machine; including facing up of the logs.
• Maintain and adhere to Food Safety standards at all times
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices such as :
• Hand washing, Support other areas of manufacturing when directed
• PPE requirement, Changing procedures ,Clean as you go
• Comply with all hygiene standards, Only operate equipment, machinery, and tools where training has been provided
• Adhere to all quality standards
• Follow all Standard Operating procedures
• Achieve the production plan
• Participate in multiskilling through job rotation
• Support other areas of manufacturing when directed, Complete paperwork accurately and at time of checks, Provide support and mentoring to new colleagues
• Always maintain standards of conduct and performance in the workplace including time keeping and following absence reporting procedure
