Job summary

St Austell Brewery is seeking a Packaging Shift Lead to head up a shift and drive safe, efficient, high-quality packaging operations. You will own performance across packaging lines, resolve issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives on shift.

The role is hands-on, with responsibilities spanning start-ups, changeovers, quality checks and training to build a high-performing team in a busy brewery environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in production/manufacturing with supervisory responsibilities.
• Hands-on leadership with the ability to motivate a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging operations across the shift, including start-ups, changeovers, running and cleaning.
• Ensure production meets quality standards, specifications and schedules.
• Act as the key escalation point for operational and technical issues.
• Monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Drive a strong safety culture and proactively manage risks.
• Provide training to develop team capability.
• Ensure all quality checks and audits are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage materials, minimise waste and maximise yield.
• Lead clear and engaging shift handovers.
