Job summary
Moderna is establishing a leading manufacturing facility at Harwell, UK, to support onshore mRNA vaccine production. The role focuses on hands‑on automation engineering for drug product packaging and Drug Substance manufacturing, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement across DeltaV and Rockwell platforms.
You will work independently and with cross‑functional teams to implement new labeling, packaging capabilities, and digital innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Manufacturing or related field.
- 3+ years automation engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably pharma/biotech.
- Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
- Experience in GMP/GxP-regulated environments.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on automation engineering support for packaging and DS manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, DeltaV, HMIs, instrumentation, networks, and robotics to maintain production.
- Support new packaging equipment, labeling, serialization, and line configuration.
- Lead documentation and CAPA processes in collaboration with Quality and Validation.
- Collaborate with OEMs and system integrators to improve performance and compliance.
