Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Oxford is seeking an Associate Transport Planner to support and lead projects from our Oxford office, hybrid working available. The role covers leading transport planning inputs across development projects and mentoring junior team members.

You will prepare and review Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans, undertake transport modelling and stakeholder liaison, and help win new work while developing client relationships for growth of the Oxford team.

Qualifications

• Several years' experience in transport planning, ideally within consultancy.
• Strong technical report writing and analytical skills.
• Experience preparing development planning documentation.
• Demonstrable experience or strong interest in winning work, business development and client relationship management.
• Confidence engaging with clients, developers and local authorities.
• Progression towards, or achievement of, a relevant professional qualification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Leading transport planning inputs across a range of development projects.
• Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Undertaking transport modelling, accessibility assessments and active travel strategies.
• Managing client relationships and liaising with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Playing an active role in business development, including identifying opportunities, building client relationships, contributing to bids and helping to secure new work.
• Supporting the commercial performance and growth of the Oxford team.
