Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a forward-thinking school in Oxford to recruit an Attendance Officer for an immediate start. The role focuses on monitoring student attendance, data accuracy, and collaboration with pastoral teams to improve engagement.

The successful candidate will bring experience in attendance or admin within education, strong communication with parents, and excellent organizational and data-management skills, using school systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom.

Qualifications

• Experience in an attendance, administrative, or pastoral role.
• Experience within a school or education setting preferred.
• Strong communication with parents, students and staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and data management ability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track daily student attendance and punctuality.
• Contact parents and carers regarding unexplained absences and maintain attendance records using school management systems.
• Analyze attendance data to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
• Assist with attendance panels, meetings and interventions for persistent absenteeism.
• Liaise with pastoral teams, heads of year, and external agencies to support student engagement.
